Francis Patrick McElhone (April 5, 1929 - September 22, 1982) was a Scottish Labor Party politician.

McElhone was elected MP for Glasgow Gorbals in elections in 1969. He served until the constituency was abolished in a borderline change for the 1974 elections.

He was later elected as MP for Glasgow's Queen's Park, and held the chair until he suffered a heart attack and died in office in 1982 at the age of 53, while participating in a 'Day of Action' marching and a demonstration in support of the National Health Workers' service in Glasgow. He served as Deputy Secretary of State for Scotland from 1975 to 1979.

After his death, his widow, Helen McElhone, was chosen to represent Glasgow Queen's Park. He only served for several months before the chair was removed by a change of limit.

Their son is a musician Johnny McElhone.
