Loken was born in Ghent, New York, daughter Rande (nÃÆ' Â © e Porath), a model, and Merlin "Chris" Loken, a writer and apple farmer. He is half German and half Norwegian. Her parents are from Wisconsin. She grew up in her parents' farm at Upstate New York.

After his mother encouraged him to become a model, Loken participated in the Model Elite Model 1994 where he placed the 3rd runner-up. Loken started his acting career in 1994 as the third actress to play Danielle 'Dani' Andropoulos on an episode of The World Turns . She later appeared on several television shows and movies, including regular appearances on the TV show Philly, Truly Unfortunately and Boy Meets World.
In 1998, Loken starred in Mortal Kombat: Conquest as Taja. He played the T-X cyborg (Terminatrix) in the 2003 movie Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. In 2004, he appeared in a German television film, Die Nibelungen (also known as the "Dark Kingdom: Dragon King" or "Xanten Sword"), which aired as a 2-part mini series and set records ratings. She starred as the lead character in the 2006 film version of BloodRayne video game, and appeared in a Uwe Boll film directed version of the Dungeon Siege video game called In Name King .
She appeared in the 10 episodes of the fourth season The L Word , which debuted in January 2007. In addition, she starred as the title character in the Sci-Fi Channel series of Painkiller Jane from April to September 2007. In December 2011, Loken appeared in the fifth season final of the USA TV Burn Notice series as CIA agent Rebecca Lang, and will reprise the role in three sixth-several episodes during mid-2012.
In 2014, he starred in the Mercenary action film, alongside Cynthia Rothrock, Brigitte Nielsen, Vivica A. Fox, ZoÃÆ'Â · Bell and Nicole Bilderback.

Loken has a sister named Tanya.
He stated in an interview with Curve magazine: "I've been dating and having sex with men and women, and have to say that the relationships I have with certain women are far more satisfying, sexually and emotionally, than with certain people... I connect with the aura, with energy And if the person connected to me happens to be a girl, that's what happens, that's what makes my wheels spin. "
On January 17, 2008, Loken announced on his website that he was engaged to her Painkiller Jane opposite Noah Danby. The couple married on her family farm on May 10, 2008. In an interview published on November 16, 2009, she announced that she had split from Danby and dated a woman.
Loken gave birth to a son, Thor, in May 2016.
