Albert William Franks (March 11, 1880 - September 14, 1951) is an Australian footballer who plays for South Melbourne in the Victoria Football League (VFL).
Although born and raised in Victoria, Frank originally played at the Goldfields Football Association with Kalgoorlie Train and then at North Fremantle at the Western Australian Football Association. Usually playing as a claimant, he was a vital member of Melbourne's 1909 main team and kicked a goal in a low Grand Final. He made another Grand Final in 1912, but on that occasion finished on the losing side and ended his career at the Victoria Football Association in North Melbourne.
Frank has a poor disciplinary record, and missed the Grand Final of 1907 for a seven match suspension he received for attacking. In particular, he was absent for life (changed to 33 matches) in 1910 after being found guilty of abusing and threatening a referee, the longest suspension for such accusations in league history.
