The Parramatta Advertiser is a weekly regional newspaper serving communities in Parramatta, Auburn and Holroyd local government areas and includes local news, sports, board decisions, and community events. This newspaper is published every Wednesday. It currently has 79,598 circulation and 78,000 readers.
The Parramatta Advertiser was launched on June 15, 1933 by the Cumberland Newspaper Group. This eventually became the successor to The Cumberland Argus when it was incorporated into the Parramatta Advertiser in 1962.
Initially bi-weekly, it became the regional newspaper "flagship" of the Cumberland Group newspaper and at the time was Australia's largest regional newspaper.
Since then it has become the main local newspaper for the City of Parramatta. In 1995, Parramatta advertisers were divided into 3 separate editions: City (Parramatta) North, Auburn, and Holroyd.
The online edition of this paper is now under the auspices of the Daily Telegraph , Australia's leading daily newspaper.
The deaths of Parramatta Advertiser and other notifications are indexed by the Ryerson Index. Copies of previous newspapers filed in microfilm at State Library of New South Wales.
