Manukapua " Manu " Maniapoto (June 29, 1935 - January 24, 2017) is a New Zealand rugby union player. Key, Maniapoto represents Bay of Plenty at the provincial level, playing 107 times for the province between 1960 and 1968, scoring 10 tries and kicking one conversion. He is the first player to reach 100 games for Bay of Plenty. From Ng? Ti T? Wharetoa, Ng? Ti Pikiao and Tuhourangi descendants, Maniapoto is a member of New Zealand M? Ori side 1960-1966, and playing for both Tai R? Whiti (1963-1965) and North (1967) in the Prince of Wales Cup.
Born in Mokai, north of Taupo, on 29 June 1935, Maniapoto was the fourth son of Hema Maniapoto and Mamaeroa Maniapoto (Hamiora) and singer Moana Maniapoto's uncle. He died in Rotorua on January 24, 2017, and his funeral was held at Waitetoko Marae in Te Rangiita, on the shores of Lake Taupo.
