Surendran Kochuvelu , better known by his stage name Indrans , is an Indian film actor and former costume designer, appearing in the Malayalam film. He is popular for comedy roles and has starred in more than 550 movies.

Indrans made his debut in the 1981 film Choothattam both as a costume designer and as an actor. The producer, TMN Charley, offers him an opportunity to help him in designing the costumes and he works by designing costumes for several years, acting in a variety of small roles. She got attention for playing a small role from a wedding broker in the 1993 film Meleparambil Anveedu . She got a breakthrough with her role in CID Unnikrishnan B.A., B.Ed. (1994). This led to him becoming a role player in various comedy roles in films of the 1990s. Furthermore, his role as a thief in the 2004 film Kathirashan made him noted as a character actor. She won the Kerala Country Film Award - Special Mention for her performance in the 2014 Apothecary film. In 2018, he won the Kerala Country Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in the 2017 movie Aalorukkam .

Personal life

Indrans was born in 1957. Originally named Surendran, he was the second of seven children from Palavila Kochuvelu and Gomathi in Kumarapuram, Thiruvananthapuram. He has four sisters and two brothers. He studied at High School, Kumarapuram until the fourth grade. After leaving school he worked with his uncle as a tailor. He joined the amateur art club and started acting in drama. She started her acting career on the television series Kaliveedu in Doordarshan. He opened a sewing shop called Indrans , and when he started acting in the movie took it for his stage name.

He married Santhakumari on February 23, 1985. They had a daughter and a son.
