Ryan Tubridy (born May 28, 1973), dubbed "Tubs", is an Irish broadcaster, presenter of live shows on radio and television in Ireland. Tubridy is the highest-income presenter in RaidiÃÆ'ó TeilifÃÆ's ÃÆ' â ⬠° ireann (RTÃÆ'â ⬠°). The current host of the old TV chat program The Late Late Show and a weekday morning radio show called The Ryan Tubridy Show .
Tubridy previously presented the RT2Fm Full Irish radio radio show, which is ultimately the second most popular radio program in Ireland. During the five seasons from 2004 to 2009, he presented a Saturday Night TV chat show Tubridy Tonight at RTÃÆ' â ⬠° One. He then left RTÃÆ' â ⬠° 2fm for several years to present the radio program on the morning of The Tubridy Show on RTÃÆ'â ⬠Radio 1, but returned to RTÃÆ' â ⬠° 2fm in 2010 to present the event radio morning work today from 09:00 to 11:00, after the cessation of The Gerry Ryan Show with the sudden death of the presenter. He also held a Rose of Tralee contest on two occasions. He is a big supporter of Esker Amateur Boxing Club from Lucan and has openly supported the campaign of building their Esker Boxing Club since 2012.
As part of a two-book deal with HarperCollins - and nods for his love of US politics - Tubridy writes JFK in Ireland, the profile of US President John F. Kennedy's visit to Ireland in 1963. He's working on a second book. With several wins and nominations at the Meteor Awards for his name, originating from his time as the Full Irish host, Tubridy was named one of Ireland's 21st century "icons" by the Sunday Tribun ' s Derek O'Connor in 2008.

Birth and education
Born in Booterstown, Dublin, in 1973, Tubridy was educated at Carysfort National School and Blackrock College. He studied for a Bachelor of Arts (BA) at University College, Dublin (UCD), where he is a Fianna FÃÆ'áil member Kevin Barry Cumann and is active in the Student Union and Belfield FM, as well as DÃÆ'ún Laoghaire branch ÃÆ' â ⬠Å"gra Fianna FÃÆ'áil. Experienced in Greek and Latin, he is schooled with Craig Doyle and Ryle Nugent.
Ancestor
One of the five children, Tubrida's brother is Judith, Niall, Rachel and Garrett. Garrett ran unsuccessfully for the Pembroke-Rathmines ward of the Dublin City Council at local elections in 2009. During the election campaign Ryan was advised not to appear in public with his brother.
His father Patrick Tubridy of Blackrock, who died in January 2013, was a medical practitioner and the only son of Fianna FÃÆ'áil TD SeÃÆ'án Tubridy (1897-1939). SeÃÆ'án Tubridy is the only son of Patrick Tubridy (1869-1920) and Jane Waldron (born 1868). King Edward III of England is the father's ancestor, as revealed in Who You Think You Are? in 2009. Via Edward III, Tubridy is also a descendant of John, the King of England, which sealed Magna Carta ââi>.
Tubridy's mother is Catherine Andrews, whose father, Todd Andrews, is a prominent co-founder of Fianna FÃÆ'áil ÃÆ' â ⬠° amon de Valera and holds a number of posts in semi-state companies. A maternal uncle, Niall Andrews, is a TD and MEP, while his mother's other uncle, David Andrews, is an Irish government minister. Her first two cousins, Barry Andrews and Chris Andrews, also sat in DÃÆ'áil ÃÆ'â ⬠ireann as Fianna FÃÆ'áil TDs, former Minister for State for Children in coalition government Brian Cowen, since then became chief executive of charity charity GOAL, while the latter was elected to the Dublin City Council as a member of Sinn Fà © à © in 2014. Another cousin, David Andrews Jr., is a comedian who works under the pseudonym David McSavage.

Tubridy began broadcasting at the age of 12, reviewing the book for RTÃÆ' â ⬠° 2FM Poporama event presented by Ruth Buchanan. He earns $ 25 per show. After leaving college, he became a runner in RTÃÆ' â ⬠°, originally working on The Gerry Ryan Show as a tea and coffee maker. Tubridy tells Gerry Ryan's death that "When I set foot in the RTÃÆ'â â¬, he puts his wings around me and says: 'I love what you do I like what you are.I will take care of you.'" He praised Ryan for his good "in a place full of ego and strange hatred". Tubridy is also influenced by the "nerd made good" style of British broadcaster Chris Evans.
Then she worked as a reporter for Today with Pat Kenny, and occasionally presents the Five Seven Live radio show. In the summer of 1999, Tubridy presented Morning Glory on RTÃÆ'â ⬠Radio 1 and in July 2000 he moved to The Sunday Show . From 2002 to 2005 he served breakfast program RTÃÆ' â ⬠° 2fm, The Full Irish . Clarke then describes Tubridy's move into the morning as the best decision of his 25-year career on radio.
In 2006, Tubridy began presenting The Tubridy Show , on the morning of the working day at RTÃÆ'â ⬠Radio 1. Around this time, she wrote a column for Sunday World in where he stated among other things his support for Barack Obama, "one of his favorite singers" Fionn Regan and the success of Kenny Egan, a silver medalist at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He then interviewed Said Obama, the uncle of US President Barack Obama for The Tubridy Show . Tubridy suggests he will consider moving to a new meadow if there is a chance.
After the death of Gerry Ryan, friends and colleagues Tubridy, Turbridy became rumors by various newspapers that he will replace it in the slot RTÃÆ' â ⬠° 2fm, become the main producer RT with a salary of 1 million Euro. In June 2010, RTÃÆ' â ⬠"confirmed that Tubridy would actually fill the slot from August, presenting a program called Tubridy from 09:00 to 11:00. Her salary remains unchanged. After completing the The Tubridy Show on July 16, 2010, she began presenting Tubridy at RTÃÆ' â ⬠° 2fm on August 20, 2010, surprising the listener by starting the program three days earlier that what which was originally scheduled for August 23. His first guest on the show was Bono. RT slot â ⬠° Radio 1 filled by John Murray. Tubridy became synonymous with the declining number of listeners, a 40% collapse which in 2011 coincided with an increase in listening rates for its rival The Ray D'Arcy Show .
In May 2011, the Irish Broadcasting Authority passed a complaint against Tubridy who called the pedophile "monster" and "creature" and added: "From what I gather these people can not be quoted recovered... only one way to deal they are, and that's physiological... these people have to be released. "
Tubridy returns to RTÃÆ' â ⬠° Radio 1 in September 2015 to host The Ryan Tubridy Show, a weekly morning showcase every hour.
BBC
In July 2010, Tubridy agent Noel Kelly confirmed that Tubridy was offered by the BBC to present a summer filler for BBC Radio 2 program Jonathan Ross. He declined the offer citing preparations for the The Late Late Show and after the death of Gerry Ryan. It is confirmed that Tubridy will present the slot for 8 weeks from July 23, 2011, including Ross's replacement, Graham Norton.
Tubridy sacrificed his Christmas holiday in 2011 to work for the BBC again, this time as Ken Bruce's successor on Radio 2. Amid continuing media criticism related to the declining number of listeners and viewers, he has received support from Chris Evans and has been defended by Vincent Browne. Tubridy also stands for Chris Evans on Radio 2 Breakfast Show, and Simon Mayo on the 2nd radio drivetime slot. In 2015, he also stood on the weekend show Terry Wogan on Sunday.
Payroll controversy
In 2008, Tubridy was the presenter of RT â ⬠"at the fourth highest salary, having received a 50% increase in his salary from the previous year.
Tubridy drew criticism for his refusal to accept a pay cut in early 2009 even when his colleagues such as Pat Kenny and Marian Finucane agreed on their own pay cuts. He soon became the subject of a hatred campaign on the social networking site Facebook but then chose to take a 10 percent salary cut. He is not a RT employee, but is a contract employee and pays himself EUR283,756 a year from his production company, Tuttle Productions. He admitted to not feeling very guilty about his EUR500,000 salary.
In March 2013, it was revealed that it has received EUR723,000 in 2011.
Television
Tubridy hosted the Exhibition of Science and Technology Scientists at the Royal Dublin Society in 2003 and 2004. Also in 2003 and 2004, he presented the Rose of Tralee competition. In 2003 and 2004 he presented a game called All Kinds of Everything . He presented RTÃÆ' â ⬠° People in Need Telethon in 2004 and 2007.
In October 2004, Tubridy Tonight began. It's a Saturday night talk show, seen as a substitute for Kenny Live (formerly Saturday Night Live ). Tubridy initially announced his intention to take over Kenny's Late Late Show host but he later stated that he would still host Tubridy Tonight, portraying it as his own. In March 2012, Tubridy made his television debut in America while he was discussing his book, JFK in Ireland . His debut was positively received by industry professionals and millions of expecting Americans.

For more than EUR100,000 HarperCollins signed Tubridy as part of a two-book deal. They wanted autobiography but he persuaded them otherwise. The first book of Tubridy, 302 pages long JFK in Ireland, was launched at Mansion House, Dublin on October 27, 2010. While researching the book, he discovered that ÃÆ'â ⬠amon de Valera has a part of John F. Kennedy's speech for DÃÆ'áil ÃÆ'â ⬠ireann was removed from the record after finding its contents offensive. Contrary to Tubridy's claim, however, the full text of the speech can be found on the Oireachtas website. Tubridy is currently working on a second book.
Tubridy co-wrote the title song, "We Are Where We Are", about Paddy Cullivan's extended game, released in October 2010. The authors and broadcasters commented: "Paddy is a friend and we will have many conversations over a pint of Guinness." She also sang the song on the Late Late Toy Show in 2010, becoming the first host to do such a thing.

Tubridy meets with his wife, producer Anne Marie Power in RTÃÆ' â ⬠° in 1997 when she saw him in a recording studio. He then talked about when they met: "He will make a program, I will come out.my head turns and my life changes.I chase it endlessly.He used to walk down the corridor and I'm quite fascinated by him." He is very clever and he made a documentary about flamenco. He is much brighter than me and continues, which is not too difficult if you dig deep enough, and I invite him out. "The couple had a daughter, Ella, and then married in 2003. Tubridy has been charged comments about his physical appearance. He describes himself as a "young man".
