Niall Donoghue (October 25, 1990 - October 23, 2013) is an Irish thrower who plays at senior level for senior Galway team.

Born in Kilbeacanty, County Galway, Donoghue first played competitive while running at school at Gort Community School. He arrived at the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first connected with a small team of Galway, before then joining a team under 21 years old. He made his senior debut in the 2012 National Hurling League. Donoghue went on to play a key part for Galway for the next two seasons, and won one Leinster medal. He was the All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. He was also nominated for All Star this year. Throughout his career Donoghue made 8 championship appearances.

As a member of the inter-provincial team Connacht for two consecutive years, Donoghue failed to win two Railroad Cup finals. At club level he plays with Kilbeacanty.

Donoghue was found dead at his home on October 23, 2013, 2 days before his 23rd birthday. His death brought the topic of suicide into public consciousness. His funeral was attended by a large number of mourners from the GAA community across the country, including team friends Donohoe in Galway. A number of other figures in GAA such as Kilkenny manager Brian Cody and associate chairman Liam O'Neill phoned the Donohoe family home to pay their respects.
