Jeffrey Donovan (born May 11, 1968) is an American actor. She plays Michael Westen in the television series Burning Notice, and starred in movies like Hitch , Believe me , Changeling and < i> Come Early Morning . He played Robert F. Kennedy at Clint Eastwood J. Edgar (2011) and his brother, John F. Kennedy at Rob Reiner, LBJ . He has a recurring role in the second season of the Fargo TV series (2015).

Donovan was born in Amesbury, Massachusetts, and grew up with two brothers, Michael and Sean, by their mother, Nancy Matthews. His childhood, Donovan recalls:
I grew very poor. We grew up with prosperity - a single mother with three boys. We have nothing. Christmas is coming, he rewraps the gift he gave us before. We moved about 10 times in my childhood. When you get home from school and the lights are not on, you think: we move! You can not pay utility bills on welfare. We became very frugal.
At Amesbury High School, Donovan is mentored by teacher Patricia Hoyt. She helped him start the drama club and later found him a private scholarship, allowing him to participate in a summer program that helped pave the way for his acting career. He attended Bridgewater State College before moving to the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in drama.
While studying at the university, Donovan is a commercial bus driver at UMass Transit Service, where he operates passenger buses as part of PVTA. He went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts from a University of New York Graduate Degree Program at Tisch School of the Arts.

Television
Donovan has starred in guests on several television shows, including CSI: Miami, Miami City, i> Witchblade , The Pretender , Murder: Life on the Road and Legal & amp; Messages . In the short TV series Threshold , Donovan plays Dr. antihero. Sloan. Donovan also played the recurring role of William Ivers at Crossing Jordan. In 2004, she had her first lead role in an American remake of the English television series Touching Evil with Vera Farmiga on the USA Network.
From 2007 to 2013, Donovan starred in Burning Notice , as Michael Westen, a burned spy, apparently by the CIA or Homeland Security, for unfamiliar reasons, and stranded in Miami, Florida. The show follows Westen as he tries to find out why he burned and regained his job as a secret intelligence agent, in addition to bringing justice to the good people of Miami. Donovan made his directorial debut with the series of episodes, "Made Man" which first aired on June 17, 2010. Donovan also directed the prequel movie starring Bruce Campbell, entitled Burning Notice: The Fall of Sam Ax , the first aired on the USA Network on April 17, 2011. The series lasted for seven seasons, received positive reviews from fans and critics, and was nominated for four Emmy Primetime Awards.
By 2015, Donovan has a recurring role on Fargo as Dakota North Dodd Gerhardt's mafia. In 2016, he began starring as Tarot-reading actor Charlie Haverford on Shut Eye in Upper Hulu. On January 30, 2018, Shut Eye was canceled after two seasons.

Donovan also appeared on stage in various productions, including Hamlet as eponymous title characters, A View from the Bridge as Marco, Inspector Call, and Off -Broadway on Things You Should Not Say At Midnight Like as Gene, The Glory of Living as Clint, regionally on Toys in Attic > as Julian Berniers, On the Waterfront as Terry, Oedipus as Teiresias and Freedomland as Seth. From October 2008 to Spring 2009, Jeffrey starred in the comedy joke Do not Dress for Dinner in Chicago. Donovan also appeared on radio drama On Waterfalls (such as Terry), Frozen, and Grapes of Wrath.
Personal life
Donovan has more than 20 years of martial arts experience. In college, he gets his black belt in Shotokan karate and competes all over the state. Later, he studied aikido for over six years and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
On July 3, 2009, Donovan, a Boston Red Sox fan from childhood, threw the first ceremonial pitch in a match between the Red Sox and the Seattle Mariners at Fenway Park. On July 3, 2010, he once again threw the first ceremonial pitch at Fenway Park, this time in a match between the Red Sox and the Baltimore Orioles.
Donovan married Michelle Woods on August 25, 2012. They have a daughter in December 2012.
Philanthropy
In 2009, Donovan returned to Amesbury High School where he took part in a career guidance program with other successful professionals and presented the school with a $ 100,000 art scholarship program. The first $ 10,000 award was given to the June seniors.
Over the years, Donovan has actively supported Life Rolls On (LRO), a foundation that empowers people with spinal cord injuries. On October 4, 2009 he served as one of the chairpersons for the annual LRO annual fundraiser called Night by the Ocean at the Kodak Theater. Donovan was named Grand Marshal of the 22nd annual AIDS Walk in Miami held on April 17, 2010.
Donovan also supports the charity of his friends.
