Harry Caples (1898-1933) is an Australian rugby league player. His club football is played with the Eastern Suburbs club.

Club career
Former school star, Caples attends St. John's College. Joseph, Hunters Hill before being judged by Rooster in 1916.
He played 110 matches for the club in the years (1916-23 & 1929). Five-eight, Caps Easts captain to the club's fourth premierhip in 1923, scored twice in the match.

Careers representative
Caples was selected for the 1921-22 Kangaroo tour in the United Kingdom. He plays for Australia in two tour Tests and 22 small tour matches. She is listed on the Australian Players List as Kangaroo No. 117. During his career, he represented three different states, New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria.
Services interstate to game
After his success as prime minister in 1923, Harry Capes moved to Victoria in 1924 to ARL executive Harry Sunderland to help set up the Rugby League in the southern state. Evening News, Sydney newspaper, quotes: "Sunderland is making a strong effort to put the game on a strong footing in Melbourne, and he has approached some famous players to go south and provide their services."
Sunderland (based in Queensland), then sent him to Ipswich, Queensland in 1925 and he played there for several years. Captain-trained coach Wagga Wagga in 1928, before returning to the Easts for the last season in 1929.
Premature death
Caples died after contracting Meningitis at a relatively young age of 35 years. A large cemetery was held for him in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Randwick and he was buried at Randwick Cemetery. He survived by his wife Dorothy and three small children.
