Clyde Gilmour , (June 8, 1912 in Calgary - November 7, 1997 in Toronto) is a Canadian broadcasting and print journalist, most of whom is known for his half-century career with CBC Radio.

Biography
Gilmour grew up in Medicine Hat, Alberta, where he attended Alexandra High School until graduating in 1929. The Great Depression condition prevented Gilmour from going to university, and in 1930 he joined the Medicine Hat News staff.
Following the journalistic and public relations services in World War II, live live in Vancouver contributed film reviews and music for Vancouver Province and Vancouver Sun when he began his long association with CBC Radio. by broadcasting movie reviews at CBU stations. An important review note for Sun is a 1950 evaluation of some of Oscar Peterson's early works.
In 1954, he moved to Toronto and wrote a similar column for Toronto Telegram until the newspaper's death in 1971. He then wrote for the Toronto Star as a film critic for the rest. 1970's. On October 5, 1956, the first episode of Gilmour's Albums was broadcast on CBC Radio, a weekly music program that continued until June 14, 1997.
Options in the program are generally taken from his personal collection which eventually includes 10,000 LPs and 4000 Compact Discs. These items are inherited to the CBC and today form the Clyde Gilmour Collection. Gilmour Album set a longevity record for a single-host CBC Radio show.
Gilmour was appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada in 1975. He died at St. Joseph's Health Center. Joseph, Toronto, on November 7, 1997, was 85 years old. The Toronto Film Critics Association sometimes presents the Clyde Gilmour Award in his honor.
